How to Use FX-Alene in a Simple Balm
- Weigh. Weigh the FX-Alene with your oils and butters. For a simple balm, start with FX-Alene as a large share of the base.
- Melt. Melt the ingredients gently together in a double boiler, stirring until smooth.
- Cool a little. Take off the heat. Add heat-sensitive ingredients such as lavender essential oil or vitamin E once the mix has cooled a little.
- Pour. Pour into clean tins or jars before it sets.
- Set. Leave to set undisturbed, away from draughts.
- Test. Check the firmness and feel, then adjust the ratios in the next batch.
Tip: Make a small test batch first. FX-Alene balms feel different from beeswax balms, so adjust waxes and oils a little at a time.

Safety & Selling Your Products ▼
This product is a cosmetic raw material for external use only. Do not swallow it, keep it out of reach of children and keep it away from the eyes. Melted ingredients are hot and can burn, so never heat over a direct flame and never leave them unattended. Patch test finished products before first use and stop using a product if irritation occurs.
FX-Alene is rich and occlusive. Use it sparingly on skin that is prone to congestion, and patch test before use. Water-based products made with it need a suitable preservative.
