Lip Balm Base - Almond and Cocoa Butter (Melt and Pour)
Our Almond and Cocoa Butter Lip Balm Base is a ready-made melt-and-pour base made from natural waxes, butters and oils: sweet almond oil, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, castor oil, jojoba oil and vitamin E. It is made to give a smooth, creamy balm.
Melt it, stir in a lip balm flavour if you like, and pour it into tubes, tins or pots. It does not need diluting, so you can use it as it is, or add your own lip-safe ingredients. Pre-made bases are popular for gifts, parties, school fundraisers and small business lines.

How to Make Lip Balm with Our Base
- Weigh. Weigh out the amount of base you need. Allow roughly 5 g for each 5 ml tube, plus a little extra for the pouring jug.
- Melt. Melt the base gently in a double boiler (one pot sitting in a pot of hot water) or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring in between, until just liquid.
- Flavour. Take it off the heat and let it cool slightly. Stir in a few drops of lip balm flavour oil, or a lip-safe essential oil used at a very low level.
- Pour. Pour straight away into tubes or containers.
- Set. Leave to set without moving them, then cap and label.
Tip: Pour a test tube first. Once you are happy with the flavour and texture, make the full batch.
