Turmeric Essential Oil (Curcuma longa) is steam distilled from the rhizomes of the plant, sourced from India. Its warm, woody, earthy aroma with spicy-musky undertones comes from its turmerone and sesquiterpene content — note that the coloured, non-volatile curcuminoids (including curcumin) that turmeric is best known for remain behind in the plant's oleoresin and are not present in this steam-distilled oil.
