Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) essential oil is recognised for its diverse therapeutic applications. Traditionally, it has been used to help manage inflammation, muscular and menstrual discomfort, and is noted for its antibacterial, antifungal, insecticidal, and parasiticidal activity.

In aromatherapy, Mugwort oil is valued for its effects on the nervous system. It may promote relaxation, support emotional balance, and reduce situational anxiety or low mood. Its calming influence on the brain and nervous system has also been associated with easing tension and supporting recovery from episodes of heightened stress or agitation.

Topical use: Dilute with a suitable carrier oil before applying to the skin (recommended dilution: 1–2%).

Aromatherapy: Add a few drops to a diffuser, vaporiser, or steam inhalation to encourage relaxation and emotional balance.

Massage blends: Combine with other essential oils and carrier oils for muscular or menstrual support.

Mugwort essential oil blends well with woody, herbaceous, and camphoraceous oils, such as cedarwood, clary sage, lavender, rosemary, pine, sandalwood, frankincense, patchouli, and oakmoss
