Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus limon) is cold pressed from the peel, producing a pale yellow to slightly greenish-yellow liquid with a bright, zesty, unmistakably fresh citrus aroma. This FCF (furanocoumarin-free) grade keeps lemon's classic uplifting character while substantially reducing the phototoxicity risk associated with standard cold-pressed lemon oil.
Lemon is a popular choice in skincare for oily or congested skin, prized for its cleansing, astringent qualities, and is a favourite in diffuser blends for its energising, mood-lifting scent. In massage oils it's often included for a refreshing, revitalising effect, and it blends beautifully into creams and lotions for a clean, citrus finish.
A little care goes a long way: Lemon Essential Oil is a mild skin and eye irritant and a skin sensitiser. Although this FCF grade greatly reduces phototoxicity risk compared to standard lemon oil, sun or UV exposure on treated skin is still best avoided as a precaution. Dilute before topical use and patch test first.

Lemon's bright, zesty top note is a citrus-fragrance staple — try it at 5-15% of the fragrance concentrate in a fresh cologne or citrus-floral accord; this FCF grade allows considerably more headroom (up to around 20% in fine fragrance) than standard cold-pressed lemon oil.
Skincare & Massage Oil Inclusion Rate
For leave-on skincare and massage oils, keep Lemon to around 0.5-2% of the total formulation; even with the FCF grade's reduced furanocoumarin content, always check the current IFRA limit for your specific product category.
Aromatherapy & Diffuser Blend
For an energising, mood-lifting blend, try 2 drops Lemon with 2 drops Bergamot and 1 drop Peppermint; for a calming citrus-floral blend, combine with Lavender and Geranium.
