Fractionated Coconut Oil / Organic / Palm Free / MCT Oil
Fractionated Coconut Oil / Organic / Palm Free / MCT Oil
Fractionated Coconut Oil (Organic, Palm-Free MCT Oil)
Fractionated Coconut Oil (also known as MCT Oil) is produced by isolating the medium-chain triglycerides from certified organic coconut oil through hydrolysis and steam distillation, leaving a light, completely liquid oil that never solidifies. Fully saturated and free of the longer-chain fats that cause whole coconut oil to turn solid below room temperature, it stays clear and fluid at any temperature, making it easy to dispense and blend.
Its light, fast-absorbing, non-greasy texture makes it a favourite among massage therapists and cosmetic formulators alike. It washes out of linens more easily than most carrier oils, doesn't stain, and is an excellent, near-universal carrier for essential oils and other active ingredients in massage and cosmetic blends.
Apply directly to skin or hair as a light moisturiser, or use as a carrier for diluting essential oils. For formulations, blend into creams, lotions, serums or massage oils to lighten their texture. Test small batches to perfect your recipe.
Botanical Name: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (fractionated from Cocos nucifera Seed Oil).
Safety information: generally very well tolerated on all skin types, including acne-prone and oily skin, given its low comedogenic rating. As with any natural oil, a patch test is recommended before first use, particularly for sensitive skin — see the Safety Data Sheet and Ingredient & Allergen Statement in the Product Documents section below for full detail.
