Coconut Oil - Refined
Coconut Oil - Refined
Coconut Oil (Refined, Bleached & Deodorized)
Refined Coconut Oil is processed through refining, bleaching, deodorizing and winterizing to produce a highly stable, completely neutral-scented oil — free from the strong coconut aroma of virgin oil. Rich in short and medium-chain fatty acids, primarily lauric acid, it's a versatile staple in soap making, hair care, massage oils and cosmetic formulations.
It is traditionally used in folk skincare routines as a moisturiser for dry skin, and has a long history of traditional use in baby-care routines in some cultures — these are traditional and folk uses rather than medically proven treatments, and this product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Its comedogenic rating of 4 (high) means it is not generally recommended for facial use on acne-prone, oily or blemish-prone skin — it is best suited to hair, body, soap-making and DIY formulations rather than as a facial moisturiser.
Apply directly to skin or hair as a moisturiser or treatment, using a small amount and massaging gently. For DIY formulations, blend at 10–30% into soaps, creams or balms to enhance texture. Test small batches to perfect your recipe.
Botanical Name: Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil.
Safety information: generally well tolerated on normal skin, though its comedogenic rating of 4 (high) means those with acne-prone, oily or blemish-prone skin may prefer to avoid facial use. A patch test is recommended before first use, particularly for sensitive skin — see the Safety Data Sheet and Ingredient & Allergen Statement in the Product Documents section below for full detail.
