Coconut Oil - Virgin Organic
Coconut Oil - Virgin Organic
Coconut Oil (Virgin, Organic, Cold-Pressed)
Virgin Organic Coconut Oil is extracted from a single cold pressing at temperatures below 45°C, preserving its natural coconut aroma and fatty acid content. Rich in short and medium-chain fatty acids, primarily lauric acid, it retains the coconut scent that refined coconut oil lacks, making it a versatile choice for skincare, hair care and cosmetic formulations.
It is traditionally valued as a moisturiser for skin and hair, and a popular choice for massage oil, hair treatments and as a natural makeup remover. As the leading lather-producing oil used in soap making, it's also a staple base for lotions, creams and DIY cosmetics.
Apply directly to skin or hair as a moisturiser or treatment, gently warming to liquefy if solid (it melts in your hand). For DIY formulations, blend at 10–30% into soaps, creams or massage oils. Test small batches to perfect your recipe.
Botanical Name: Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil.
Safety information: generally well tolerated on normal skin, though its comedogenic rating of 4 (high) means those with acne-prone, oily or blemish-prone skin may prefer to avoid facial use. A patch test is recommended before first use, particularly for sensitive skin — see the Safety Data Sheet and Ingredient & Allergen Statement in the Product Documents section below for full detail.
