Frankincense Liquid Extract (Boswellia serrata)
Frankincense Liquid Extract is a herbal extract of Boswellia serrata, a resin-producing tree long used in traditional herbal practice and in skin care.
It has been reported to show activity against a range of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, in laboratory studies, and has traditionally been used for skin that is prone to blemishes. In traditional use it has also been reported for skin concerns such as psoriasis, seborrhoea, ringworm, skin ulcers, sores and boils — this is a cosmetic ingredient and not a medical treatment, and medical advice should be sought for any skin condition or infection.
In skin care it is believed to help rejuvenate mature skin by encouraging new skin cells and supporting oil production in dry skin, and has been reported to help reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines, including in sun-damaged skin.
