Solid Conditioner Base / Stevensons 800gm
Our Solid Conditioner Melt and Pour Base is a versatile, easy-to-use formula designed for creating sustainable, in-shower conditioner bars. Made with natural emulsifiers, shea butter, and coconut oil, this vegetable-based base helps nourish and condition the hair, leaving it feeling soft, smooth, and manageable. Formulated with conditioning agents such as Behentrimonium Chloride, it supports improved hair feel and detangling, while offering a high-performance alternative to traditional liquid conditioners.
Melting begins at approximately 60°C and can be achieved using a microwave, double boiler, or suitable heating device such as a crock pot. Stir regularly to ensure even melting. Once fully molten, you can customise the base by adding fragrance, colour, or additional conditioning agents. It is recommended that total additives do not exceed 5%, including up to 2% fragrance.
Pour the melted mixture into moulds at approximately 75–80°C and allow it to cool and set completely. Once solid, remove from the mould and package as desired. Due to the naturally oily composition, packaging should be selected carefully. For slicing, a wire cutter is recommended. For a softer bar and improved deposition on the hair, additional oils such as coconut oil can be added to slightly reduce the melting point and enhance performance.
This base is RSPO Mass Balance certified and offers a practical, eco-conscious solution for creating solid hair care products.
